Maths problem solving

This term Te Maunga has been doing Maths problem solving everyday after morning tea time. The experts go up to Mrs Pou and she teaches them then they teach as what they have learnt from Mrs Pou. We did wingspan - Reach and also Height. Shay was 1.34m for wingspan and for Height 1.33m, Kaitlin was 1.34m for wingspan and for her Height it was 1.32m and I was 1.56m for wingspan and I was 1.40m for Height.

Matariki

In term 2 Te Maunga & Te Tuhuna went on a trip to Waitangi Treaty Grounds. We went to Waitangi Treaty Grounds to learn about Matariki &  we played fun games well we were there. There was Maui-Matau, Mu Torere we also made fish out of Flax and also played a game when there are two players and you had to find them but you had to be blindfolded & also we planted ferns. I learnt how to make a fish out of Flax & I wish Paihia School can go back to the Treaty Ground next year to learn more Maori New Year games and also learn same more about Matariki.

Kai Moana

In Te Maunga we have been doing a slide presentation about kai we having been tasting some kai and we had to say if it is He Tino reka/ kawa. He tino kawa it is sour He tino reka it is sweet we tried a lot of food. Some of the kai was He tino Reka and some were He Tino Kawa when we tried same were extra sour. We tried (Apples/ aporo), (banana/Panana) and other things
