In Te Ngahere we have groups for maths and we are working on one sheet for a week and then we swap with the next group and work on that activity. This week my group and I are working on Pondering Pendulums. This maths is all about time just like last weeks activity we learnt how to use a mini trundle wheel that measures 0.5m every complete turn. Pondering pendulums is just like a grandfather clock. We had to get a piece of string and tie it around a rock and swing it 10 times to see how many seconds it took. When we finished our activity, we had to explain in our own words what is the same about a grandfather clock and a string with a rock at the end. Do you know what a grandfather clock is?
