This week in Te Ngahere we have been learning about graphs. Before we even did the graphs we had to do tables and collect data. My group has done a great job. The easiest part about this activity was analysing the data. We had to make a DLO about what we had been learning, the hardest part was finding an, I wonder question. Have you ever used a graph before ?

Te Inoi o te Ariki
Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have been learning the Lord's prayer and have recently been saying it every morning before we start our day. I learnt how to pronounce rangatiratanga correctly. Something I could do better next time is practice at home more often. I encourage everyone to learn the Lord's prayer because one day you will have to say it. Do you know the Lord’s prayer?
Tips For If You Do T-ball
Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have recently played t-ball. Whaea Kacey came to Paihia School to teach us how to play t-ball. I had a great time because I got a home run. I learnt that once you hit the ball you run to the first base but if they catch the ball and touch the base before you do then you’re out. Once you have run through all four bases you get a home run. Anyah’s team strategy was to throw the ball to the person on the last base. We had a good time learning how to play t-ball. Have you ever experienced playing t-ball?

The Excellent Game Of T Ball
Yesterday Whaea Kasey came to Paihia School to teach us how to play T ball. When Whaea Kasey was explaining the rules I think that she was really understanding. We got put into two groups we had two leaders and they were Stilly and Anyah I was put into Stillys team. Our team got to bat and Anyah’s team were on the field catching the ball. When it was my turn I was really nervous to hit the ball but when I went to hit it I thought it went quite far. Would you ever teach children how to play t-ball?

Mind-Blowing Facts About The Weather In Te Reo Maori.
This week for Te reo in our class we are still working on the weather forecast. We were learning how to say the weather in Te reo, my group and I are just about finished our script. It was hard thinking of a place that snows, then I had a harder think and I thought of Queenstown. When we finish completing our script we have to make something to share, we were thinking of doing a screencastify. I think next time we could make our script faster. Have you done Te reo around the weather?

Flash Hotel Holiday.
On the 28th of September we started our holidays. Throughout the holiday I did heaps of fun and exciting things. One of my favorite activities throughout the holidays would have to be going to this really flash hotel. In the hotel that we were in there was a big outside pool and a big spa there was also 10 rooms and every room had their own deck. I feel like I picked the best room because I could see the sunset really clear and it looked really pretty. When we were in the pool we did a challenge and it was called last to leave the pool, It was a bit hard for me to stay in the pool but I was one of the 3rd ones to leave last it was really fun doing the activities. What did you do for your holidays ? Here are some photos of the pools and hotel.

Fantastic Writing
Last week in Te Ngahere we did a piece of writing to explain how forces cause bottle rockets to fly. My writing is all about Newton’s 3 Laws of Motion and how it can affect the rockets. It was hard thinking of how I was going to explain what the 1st Law of Motion is and the the 3rd Law of Motion. For this piece of writing we were using passive voice for example not using I, me, we and you. Have you created a piece of writing around rockets?

Incredible Outstanding Math
In Te Ngahere we have groups for maths and we are working on one sheet for a week and then we swap with the next group and work on that activity. This week my group and I are working on Pondering Pendulums. This maths is all about time just like last weeks activity we learnt how to use a mini trundle wheel that measures 0.5m every complete turn. Pondering pendulums is just like a grandfather clock. We had to get a piece of string and tie it around a rock and swing it 10 times to see how many seconds it took. When we finished our activity, we had to explain in our own words what is the same about a grandfather clock and a string with a rock at the end. Do you know what a grandfather clock is?

Fantastic Launch day
Today was the big final launch for our rockets. When our bell rang to go back to class we all lined up and 1 person per group went into class and collected our rocket. After that we walked over to the field and sat to watch our first launch. The first group to launch was my group participating in my group is Nevaeh, Lily, Tizara and me. Our rocket went 19.9 metres and we didn’t place anywhere but what I have learnt is winning doesn’t matter at least you trying your best and working as a team. Have you ever seen another class launch rockets ?

Fantastic Maori language week !!!!
Kia ora bloggers, This week it's Maori language week. In Te Ngahere for Maori language week we are leaning the weather in Te Reo. How we first started off learning the weather in Te Reo we started learning how to say the Kupu before we got to match the cards and play memory or Ika Ika that means fishy fishy. Participating in my group it’s Jade R, Angela and me, When we were playing memory and matching the cards we only got mixed up on two of the kupu and that was Pata Ua ( sun showers ) and the other one was Ua Whatu ( snow ). The easiest kupu for me would have to be Huripari and that means tornado and how I can remember the kupu it’s because Huri means turn. How has your Maori language week been for you ?

Amazing Creativity Building Rockets
A couple of weeks ago we started a new project based around rockets. There has been 2 amazing guest that come in to Te Ngahere every wednesday to come and help us build our rocket. We didn’t get to make our project straight away we had to learn a bit about rockets and also health and safety. We have been learning about thrust, weight and drag when we started talking about all of these subjects I got a little confused but because they have been coming alot I understnad it better than before. The trickiest part for me during the process would have to be working with my group because they usually talk and then they have to stay in and then the teacher says to help them but sometimes I don’t because I dont want to give my lunch break up just because they wanna talk. I am really grateful that we are able to have Goustovo and Troy come and help as create and blast rockets. Have you ever design something with the help of the wonder project?

Amzing cross county
Throughout this term we have been doing cross country practice. The reason for that is because we have cross country coming up so we have been training for the day. Throughout the day we have been practicing for 15 minutes. When we have practices we have to run around the pump track and behind the rugbe post. Last week on Friday Anyah and I ran around the track 10 times together it was really hard because it was really muddy and Anyah and I didn’t want to get muddy. My goal is to try beat 15 laps. Does your school do cross county?
